Four S’s

Update by: Don

May 26, 2024

Today was the toughest day of the rally so far. Not just for us but almost everyone Dirt roads for 90% of the day in 35c. But 4 S because

1. Sump gard. Without this today the Mini would be broken in pieces. We spend so much of the day with rocks banging g underneath and “surfing” the middle part of the road ( trucks create big central ridges)

2. Seats. We changed our seats for this rally and thank goodness. They work well and allowed us to do 400kn today without being broken

3. Satellite ( a ka a Garmin) this stops us getting loss and is vital across the desert

4. Stress. It was so tough on the car today ( see picture with rear window popped out). The car was amazing and so many can’t believe the Mini did so well today Sadly we ran out of gas 15km before the end which meant we had a late penalty for arrival into camp

Lastly the camp is like mad max!! With wind blowing a gale and sand everywhere More camping tomorrow of joy!!🤩
