The long road

Update by: Don

Well we’ve been at 2 camps the last day and the tale is disappointing one

The Mini rear suspension problems continued. On day 17 on the drive to camp we covered 600km but we had our wheel nut break twice however the sense of pride of getting to the camp under own steam was immense

Day 18 was a day with 400km of unsealed roads we started with trepidation and hope

5km down the road the bolt broke again and with it our realisation we can’t keep fighting what is temporary repair

So I am writing in a support car as the mini travels in a truck with the Anadol ( Turkish car)

We’ve decided to leave on the flatbed truck today and tomorrow so we get to port in Kazakhstan to ferry across the Caspian Sea and the car gets to Baku where our parts await and we can make repairs

Having spent 9hours in a mini bus it is 400km I’m glad we didn’t drive

I’m gong to try and post without pictures initially. Photos to come
